This unit began with an introduction the the Video Production class, including; expectations, class rules, and critique guidelines. To get all students with a basic knowledge of editing in iMovie, each student downloaded sample footage and audio and used my iMovie tutorials to learn the necessary skills. This part of the learning was differentiated by skill level, with students with no prior knowledge starting with the basics and those with previous knowledge reviewing any skills needed and moving on to more complex skills.
Students were then introduced to the concept of storyboarding and storyboarded some ideas for their About Me video. Students partnered-up and went out to shoot and then edit their projects. They were instructed to play around with adding transitions, titles, and audio. We ended the project with a class presentation and critique.
